Clubs
The Andalusian Olympic Foundation traces his path: a course at age 7 at Club El Candado; from 1987–88 at Cerrado de Calderón, with Toñi Sánchez, Javier Casademont and Fernando Tejero; in Argentina, Club Obras Sanitarias; one season at the University of Calgary; Cerrado again and the Joaquín Blume residence in Madrid; and, in 1999–2000, Club Natación Metropole, plus Belgian club Scaldis.
The same biography, updated to 1 December 2020, says he was then head coach of Real Club Mediterráneo.
Olympics and major championships
Sydney 2000: Olympedia lists 29th in the 200 m backstroke. The Foundation adds 20 September 2000, heat five, 2:03.45, 8th in his heat and 29th of 45.
1997 Bari Mediterranean Games: 5th in the 200 m backstroke, 2:03.22. 1997 Seville Europeans: 20th in the 200 m backstroke. 2000 Helsinki Europeans, 50 m pool: 11th in the 200 m backstroke. 2005 Almería Mediterranean Games: 7th in the 200 m backstroke, 2:06.20, which the Foundation describes as his last final with the national team.
In Argentina, the Foundation credits him with gold in the 100 m and 200 m backstroke and in the 4×100 m medley and 4×100 m freestyle relays at the 1993 and 1994 championships, and with swimming for Argentina at the 1995 Mar del Plata Pan American Games, without a place.
Spanish titles
The Foundation counts 22 golds and itemises them. Winter: 200 m freestyle (1999), 100 m backstroke (2000), 200 m backstroke (2000), 4×50 m medley (2003 and 2004), 4×100 m medley (2002 and 2004), 4×50 m freestyle (2003 and 2004) and 4×100 m freestyle (2003 and 2004). Spring Open: 100 m backstroke (2005). Summer: 200 m freestyle (1998), 4×50 m medley (2002, 2003 and 2005), 4×100 m medley (2002), 4×50 m freestyle (2003 and 2004) and 4×100 m freestyle (2002, 2003 and 2005). It notes that the winter year is the season year, even when the meet is in December of the year before.
