The Andalusian swimming federation (FAN) sets the age groups for its own meets in circular NAT.01/26, modified on 25 September 2026. Boys and girls use the same years of birth.

Spanish federation, same season
The RFEN general rules for swimming, season 2026–2027, use another table. There is no Iniciación group. Prebenjamín is only swimmers born in 2018. Absolute is “all ages”, not 21 and over.

Where the two tables differ
- FAN Iniciación is age 7, born in 2020. The RFEN general rules do not list that category.
- FAN prebenjamín is ages 8 and 9, born in 2019 and 2018. RFEN prebenjamín is only born in 2018, age 9.
- From benjamín through under-20, the years of birth match: 2017–2016, 2015–2014, 2013–2012, 2011–2009 and 2008–2007.
- FAN absolute is 21 and over, born in 2006 and earlier. RFEN absolute is every age.
